KISS goes Spinal Tap
KISS had a bit of a Spinal Tap moment Saturday night in Tampa, Florida when the platform that lowered Gene Simmons from the rafters to the stage tilted upon landing.
Simmons couldn’t get off, leading the rest of the band to repeat the opening riff to “Detroit Rock City” until he was able to step off and Paul Stanley then started singing.
It was very reminiscent of the movie Spinal Tap when bassist Derek Smalls, portrayed by Harry Shearer, couldn’t exit his pod during “Rock ‘n’ Roll Creation.”
