Spring has arrived in Minchigan: Screamin’s House Tulips
Scott RandallSome good news to officially pass along. Spring has arrived in Michigan as of 5:24 pm EST, March 20th, 2023. It is hopefully bringing warmer weather, more sunlight, and grass turning from yellow to green. Michigan has a funny way of showing it is ready for change. This past Saturday a blast of winter weather gave Spring a right hook causing chaos with icy roads, car accidents, and a burst of cold air.

One Last Winter Blast
When I realized that Monday would be the first day of Spring I just had to write to all of you and say,
We made it! Spring has arrived in Michigan.
Spring is officially Monday, March 20th through Wednesday, June 21st, 2023. Forecasters (who we trust with our lives in a sarcastic voice) usher in weather in the '50s all week. March Madness has our Michigan Spartans continue in the big dance. The Detroit Tigers' opening day is less than a month away on April, 6th. Easter hops our way next April 9th.

I'm looking forward to dusting the clubs off and getting ready to cuss, slice, and lose a bunch of golf balls again. Such an incredible game I love to play and, if I'm lucky, I will golf again with Ryan Logan from the WCSX Big Jim's House morning show. Ryan is an incredible golfer. I nicknamed him, "The Crusher," for his tremendous shots of the tee. Note that the "Screamin Scramble," golf outing is set for August 13th. My Friend and pal Joe Evangelista is my proud wingman golf buddy. ( He can throw a club farther than anyone I know).

For the brown thumb, I am a landscaper, and always happy when my tulips come up in my front yard. I wish they lasted longer...and the tulips get to meet my new rock dog, Jett, this year. Just imagine how that is going to turn out. If I have time I have to take a road trip to Holland, Michigan for the Dutch Heritage Festival, held each spring... I hear they make Vernors there too.
Concert season is here with a bunch of great WCSX bands already added and ready to rock. Check out some great artists coming to town here: WCSX Concert Events. Iknow mother nature will throw us a curve ball soon. Let's hope we can hit it out of the park.
Screamin’ St. Patty’s Day At Youngers
Happy St. Patrick's Day! It's always a better St. Patrick's Day on a Friday! I headed to Younger's Irish Tavern in Romeo Friday morning to lead the charge. Here are some highlights from my Screamin' St. Patty's Day at Youngers. No arrests were made, so that's always a good start. I made more than one Irish toast but my favorite was an old Irish proverb:
Here's to lying, stealing, cheating and drinking
If you must lie... lie with the one you love.
If you must steal, steal away from bad company (not the band lol)
If you must cheat, cheat death.
And if you drink, drink to the moments that take your breath away.
It was beautiful to see everyone out and about, enjoying a "normal" St. Patrick's Day, just like the good old days.
My big thanks to Glen and the staff at Younger's Irish Tavern. I couldn't have asked for better hosts or a more delicious corn beef sandwich. My hat's off to Austin and Chris from our WCSX Weekend Warrior crew. It was a wonderful party and a great way to start my St. Patrick's Day festivities.
