It is pretty funny to see how everyone reacted to their dating – our very own Ryan Logan was all into it – to the extent he was trying to figure out what car they were driving. No really.
So let’s be clear – it’s not the first time a pop star has dated an athlete…here’s a couple of example:
- Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo: Remember these two? The two hooked up after Simpson separated from Nick Lachey and spent just over a year together, during which they drew the ire of angry Cowboy fans. Remember how it ended? Romo broke up with her via email due to his suspicion that Simpson was seeing another of her famous ex-lovers: John Mayer.
- A Rod and J Lo: When it comes to powerhouse couples, it doesn’t get much more powerful than Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez. Should’ve worked – they both have a single letter first name and abbreviated last name (A Rod and J Lo). Unfortunately, the star power of J-Lo and A-Rod couldn’t hold, as the two broke off their engagement in 2021.
- David Beckham and Victoria Beckham: Bottom line…when it comes to athletes hooking up with pop stars, David and Victoria Beckham are pretty much the golden couple. They first got together all the way back in 1997 when David was a young soccer superstar and Victoria was one fifth of famous British girl group the Spice Girls. While most figured it was just a typical athlete-musician fling that would last a few months at most, they ended up becoming inseparable. The couple are still happily married and have four children together.
