The Beatles Get Back To Work In 2023
All of early 2023 we got news and rumblings of another Beatles song coming. Ringo Starr let slip mid-year that it will be out this year. And questions were swirling about the use of A.I. technology to help finish the song. They did not disappoint as a few teasers and a short film were released on social media on the upcoming, “Last Beatles Song.”
John Lennon wrote “Now and Then” in the late 1970s, and recorded a five-minute piano demo in around 1977 on a tape recorder at his home at the Dakota in New York City. The lyrics are typical of the love songs that Lennon wrote in the later years of his career. 1995 the remaining Beatles gave up on the track as it was too hard to finish and the quality did not sit well with George Harrison.
The Beatles lost George in 2001 but still had some guitar parts saved from the 1995 sessions. Thanks to film director Peter Jackson for his 2021 documentary The Beatles: Get Back. Finally, the technology used in the documentary was used to revisit the track titled, “Now & Then.” Watch the video here from Youtube
“Now and Then” reached number one on the Billboard Adult Alternative Airplay chart for the week ending 9 December 2023, and was the band’s first number one on a Billboard radio airplay chart since “Let It Be” topped the Adult Contemporary chart in April 1970. Reached number #1 in Australia, Germany, Japan, and the UK. The song made it the band’s 35th top 10 single of their career.
Beatles vs. Stones In 2023
The most popular rivalry in pop music history between The Beatles and The Rolling Stones caught fire once again releasing new music in the same year for the first time since 1969, and both bands did extremely well.
Rolling Stones’ new album also features Sir Paul McCartney on a song titled, “Bite My Head Off.” Get ready its ah rocker.
