David Lee Roth Covers “867-5309/Jenny”

Thankfully David Lee Roth has taken some time off from bashing former band members and their families to get back to what made us love him in the first place….

Thankfully David Lee Roth has taken some time off from bashing former band members and their families to get back to what made us love him in the first place. David posted this to his YouTube, he calls it  "Jenny Jenny (That Telephone Song)"

DAVID LEE ROTH COVERS "867-5309/JENNY"

Like I said, thankfully DJR seems to have calmed down from all the Wolfgang Van Helen bashing and released a cover of Tommy Tutone. Check it out and see what you think!

MY FIRST REACTION:

I will be completely honest with this. I have always liked Van Hagar better then the David Lee Roth days. I always thought David was just a performer and never could really hold a note. With that said, my thoughts have not changed. I do not dig this cover at all.

Again, to be completely honest it seems like he just called a buddy and decided he wanted to do it, which if we know anything about David Lee Roth, that is probably the case.

But, to be honest again, I am just happy he is doing music and not finding a new angle to rip the Van Halen's especially Wolfgang.

The former Van Halen vocalist celebrates his birthday on October 10. Known for his wild persona on and off stage, Roth had a pretty successful solo career before rejoining the band after more than 20 years.

Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf! Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
