Trouble Giving Our Son Medicine
Grounds for Divorce is back in 2024 and I am not short of questions to start the year. We are experiencing a first with out year and half old son. I need some help everyone!
Even though it’s a new year, I am still not short on topics for Grounds for Divorce. This first one is all about giving our son medicine that he does not want to take. What are some best ways to do it? Here is the question I asked on air.
GROUNDS FOR DIVORCE: 1/4/23
DOES ANYONE HAVE ADVICE FOR GIVING A YOUNG KID EYE DROPS AND MEDICINE HE DOES NOT WANT?
Before we get to the video and listener comments let me give a little back ground to the situation. Finn my son, has an ear infection, we have to give in an antibiotic and some eye drops to help with it. It’s like a wrestling match for the eye drops, so I asked for any and all advice when it comes to putting the eye drops in.
Here is the conversation from On-Air
LISTNER COMMENTS:
It takes two. Finnian on his back. Take a toy and slowly move it over his head. His eyes should follow it and other person puts drops in.
Get a dropper for the antibiotic and you squirt a little bit at a time in his mouth the side of his cheek inside have some juice right there with them and the eyedrops you don’t have to hold his eye open just squirted in the side of it don’t go right on the eyeball and he should be fine. Make it fun.
Head lock that kid LMAO I was a pro at it. And if you put meds in his food or drink, make sure they eat or drink it all, or they aren’t getting the whole dose.
With the eye drops you don’t have to hold their eye open. Drip it in the corner near the nose and it will go in when they blink.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
I love all the suggestions and advice from this topic. I think we are going to try the corner of the eye thing and see what happens. Hopefully this doesn’t last long and we can all move on!
