VIDEO: Dr. Dolittle Lives in Florida
Paul Fortin from Daytona Beach, Florida is calling himself Dr. Dolittle.
Fortin has been feeding the local wildlife, including turtles and alligators. He resisted arrested and was given a citation and charged for illegally feeding the animals, specifically the alligator Fortin calls Hank.
“C’mon baby. He lets me pet him, he is a good boy,” Fortin said. “It’s illegal. It’s totally illegal to do it. Did I know it? No. Did I know I couldn’t feed a turtle? Alligators, yeah, I kind of knew that.”
Fortin said Hank doesn’t go to the other houses in the neighborhood.
“He’s afraid of everything,” Fortin said.
According to Fortin, the 10-foot alligator loved bagels and was such a good friend but, Fortin has agreed to stop feeding him, although he hasn’t seen Hank around for a while.
