Ryan Reynolds Is Bringing Back “Alf”
As someone who grew up after this show was aired, I have come to understand why it was such a cult classic for people. Now it is coming back in a very special way. Ryan Reynolds is bringing back the late 80’s sitcom Alf.
Ryan Reynolds is bringing back “Alf” in a series of shorts promoting brands like Mint Mobile and Ring. They’ll air Saturday, alongside episodes of the original series, on his Maximum Effort Channel on Fubo.
Once again, we’re reviving stuff from the ’80s that we just don’t need. And this time it’s coming from Ryan Reynolds, whose creative instincts are usually spot-on. Ryan is bringing back “Alf”, for a series of shorts promoting brands like Mint Mobile, Ring, and Hims. They’ll air this Saturday on Ryan’s Maximum Effort Channel on Fubo, in between episodes of the original ’80s series.
Ryan says the idea came from his, quote, “irrational love of ‘Alf’ growing up.”
Here is what it will look like:
Ryan said that his love for the show growing up is the reason for bringing it back, and hopes people will enjoy this unique look at the show. Running a new episode alongside the classics from the 1980’s. I know from our show that this was a very split program for a lot of folks. Some loved this show and others couldn’t stand watching it. I love though that Ryan will be putting his own spin on it.
Honestly, is there anything Ryan Reynolds isn’t doing right now? He turned around a Euro soccer team, bought another one and now this?! It is really cool to see this coming from the guy who once play Van Wilder. Another very underrated film!
We will have to wait and see what is next from Reynolds. I am sure it will be a massive success.
