Watching Movies with Bad Language Around My Son
So, this conversation comes after I watched Bill Burr’s new movie on Netflix called “Old Dads”. If you know Bill Burr than you know this movie was no PC or kid friendly at all. I turned it on and watched it while my 18 month old was playing with his toys. Was this a bad dad move or what it fine? We discussed it today.
Alright, here is how I asked the question on air.
IS MY SON WHO IS 18 MONTHS OLD TO YOUNG TO HAVE IN THE ROOM WHILE IM WATCHING MOVIES WITH BAD LANGUAGE IN IT?
Now, I understand peoples concern while bringing up this topic, just to clear it up. I never watch anything that has violence in it around him. I know better than that, but I do feel like swearing is okay. It is our job as a parent to teach the kid right or wrong.
Here was the discussion from on air.
LISTNER COMMENTS:
No not a good ideal.cause kids pick up on everything
I agree with you Rydawg (like always)
Botta boom botta bing MF Hedi is always right. Damit Logan
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Like I said, I will be a parent who teaches my son and future daughter what is wrong and what is right. I also want my kids to know how people in real life talk. People swear and I feel like, if you hide them from everything they are going go 10 times harder when they are finally on their own. So I will continue to have confidence in how my wife and I are rising our kids.
