Michigan’s Favorite Halloween Candy
Pound for pound, which Halloween candy does Michigan buys the most of? According to CandyStore.com’s research, Michigan’s top three are:
#1 Candy Corn
#2 Starburst
#3 Skittles
This kinda sucks, in my opinion. First off, Reese’s are the sweet treat I’m scrounging for when the kids come back from trick or treating. Also, most dentists will tell you that chocolate is better for kids eating candy versus the sticky, straight sugar treats. Third, these candies all have color numbers in them which we should try to steer clear of (again my opinion). Having said that, we totally have these candies every year, so it’s not like I’m coming from on high.
Nationally, here are the top ten Halloween candies based on how many pounds they sell each season.
#1 Skittles
#2 Reese’s cups
#3 Starburst
#4 M&M’s
#5 Hot Tamales
#6 Candy Corn
#7 Snickers
#8 Sour Patch Kids
#9 Hershey’s Kiss
#10 Jolly Rancher
Anyone on your block give out full size candy bars? We had one on our street growing up. That house was the talk of the neighborhood every year. All the kids thought these people MUST be amazing and rich if they were giving out full size candy bars.
Are you changing plans on trick or treating this year? I’m still going to decorate, but who knows if trick or treating will happen. How would you feel if your local government said NO to trick or treating? I feel like 2020 has had more tricks than treats, but we’ll still keep the celebration alive. Thanks for reading!
