This Dad Gets A Medal
It’s not easy being a dad – taking the kids sledding is fun, but sometimes you just want sit back and relax (especially if the kid is little and needs help getting back up the hill). Enter Super Dad! Okay – is this lazy or not? I don’t think so…he says it’s like reeling in a halibut.
Still not as cool as Clark Griswold’s high speed sled run in “Christmas Vacation”
Couple of other scenes that come to mind with sledding:
“Elf” (2003) In this classic holiday comedy, Buddy the Elf (played by Will Ferrell) and his love interest Jovie (played by Zooey Deschanel) have a memorable sledding scene in Central Park. They ride down a steep hill on a makeshift sled made out of cardboard boxes and are joined by a group of enthusiastic children.
“Cool Runnings” (1993) This inspiring sports comedy is based on the true story of the Jamaican bobsled team that competed in the 1988 Winter Olympics. The movie features several exciting and humorous sledding scenes as the team trains and competes in various bobsledding events.
“The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” (2005) In this adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ beloved novel, the Pevensie children discover the magical land of Narnia, where they engage in a thrilling sled chase through the snowy forests. The scene features the children riding on a sled pulled by a team of talking animals, evading the White Witch’s army of minions.
Now if you want to see how NOT to slide down a hill – we flash back to Doni at Pine Knob last year
