Dokken ‘In My Dreams’

Dokken 'In My Dreams' is one of their biggest songs. More than once, Don Dokken has mentioned that his favorite video is for this same song. "The whole rain thing and all that. It was just a very colorful, cool video." 

In a Songfacts interview Don Dokken said, "I was in Mexico on vacation and I took my acoustic guitar with me," he said. "I was sitting down at the beach, just looking at the ocean. The sun was going down, and I came up with the guitar riff. I had a magazine and a pen, and I started scribbling the lyrics on a magazine. In 40 minutes, the song was done."

Dokken has had a tumultuous history.  They were at the top of their game in 1988.  A part of the bill for Monsters of Rock with Metallica, Van Halen, and The Scorpions, Dokken already had 3 platinum albums and we're on their way up.  The following year, the band broke up.

After a four-year hiatus, Dokken reformed but they played together in patches ever since.  This latest formula seems to work well for them.  George Lynch has Lynch Mob, Don had Dokken, and at the end of the show they come out and play a few Dokken songs together.
