The Job Isn’t Done For Michigan Football
As a life long fan of Michigan football, I am over the moon with the win in the Rose Bowl on New Years Day. With that said, they still have a job to do and that comes one week from now in Houston Texas.
The Michigan Wolverines won an instant classic on New Years Day, taking down the Alabama Crimson Tide, 27-20. A game that saw a lot of mistakes and sloppy play, ultimately ended in an instant classic with Michigan winning in overtime.
A couple of things I took away from this Rose Bowl victory. First, Michigan relied heavily on their passing game, which is a change up from the past couple of weeks. J.J. McCarthy throw for 221 yards and 3 touchdowns. A different story from the interception ridden games of the past. Second, when it came down to it, Michigan went back to what they do best, run the ball. The game winning touchdown in overtime came from a fantastic run from Blake Corum. He ended up with 83 yards on the day but the most important ones came on his 17 yard game winner.
The third thing and most important I took away from this game is, this Michigan team is really different than the past 2 years. In my opinion, I believe Michigan normally loses those games. It’s been their tale for many years now, but this year was different and it was noticeable.
Overall, it was an amazing 3 hours in my life that I will never forget, but lets remember, the job is nowhere near done!
NATIONAL TITLE PREVIEW:
The first thing I talk about when I think of this National Championship game is….Make the damn game earlier! Some people get up way to early for a late night start like this! Okay, I am done with the complaining. Let’s get to the bones of this game. For me, this game comes down to the Washington passing game and the Michigan Defensive back play. Both sides have electric players at those positions and for me, that will decide the game. If Michigan can limit the long pass plays I think you will see the National Championship return to Ann Arbor.
HERE is a little more on the game:
FAVORITE MOMENTS FROM THE GAME:
Thankfully for us, Michigan put together a great highlight video from the game, showing the best moments including the final play of the game.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
I believe Michigan will dominate the line of scrimmage and force Penix Jr. into some throws he doesn’t want to make. I also believe J.J. McCarty will play the game the proves he is a next level QB. My guess for J.J’s stat line is 24/28 for 280 yards and 4 touchdowns. Michigan wins this game 35-28 in an absolute thriller. I cannot wait!
