Local Veteran Inducted Into The Hall Of Fans Class of 2022
Every year, Ford Motor Company teams up with the NFL to induct a few fans into the Ford Hall of Fans. This move is always in junction with the NFL Hall of Fame Ceremony. This year, a local veteran and Lions lover will be inducted.
During the Super Bowl earlier this year, our man Michael Banks was met by Michigan great and Hall of Famer Charles Woodson. Charles informed Banks that he was being inducted into the Ford Hall of Fans!
Michael was chosen along with 2 other NFL fans. He is the 12th member of the Hall of Fans!
Michael Banks is a retired, disabled vet who has been a die hard Lions fan his entire life, even having season tickets for the last 9 years.
Michael said, one game days he makes sure to deck his entire car out with Lions swag and heads down to the stadium.
Here was Michael’s original video submission for the Ford Hall of Fans.
Michael was also an honoree picker for the Lions at the 2022 NFL draft. He was also apart of an NFL commerical.
It all started when the newest Lion to get selected into the Hall of Fame nominated Banks. That man was Calvin Johnson!

Michael couldn’t believe it when he got the news, let alone from his favorite Lions player of all time!
“You don’t understand. Barry Sanders is my favorite football player of all time,” Banks said. “It was like an out-of-body experience to meet Barry Sanders.”
Banks has always had a positive outlook on the Lions, even when things were at their worst! He was quoted saying.
“I believe it in my heart,” Banks said. “As a Lions fan, as a Marine — everything that’s in me. I believe it in my heart that we are that close.”
