Bob Seger Joins Big Jim’s House To Celebrate Seger De Mayo
Bob Seger as Big Jim would say is the “Mayor of Michigan” and there is only one way to celebrate his birthday. That would be with our long standing tradition of Seger De Mayo! We were lucky enough to have Bob join us for a very cool conversation. He even gives his thoughts on the upcoming Lions season.
If you are from Michigan or lived here long enough, you know the impact that Bob Seger has had on so many of us. We want to celebrate that impact with something we call Seger De Mayo.
Bob’s birthday is May 6th, but we celebrate it on the Friday before, with nothing but Seger music all morning. This year was a little different though, Bob joined the show to talk about a variety of things.
Topics include, the 45th anniversary of the album “Stranger in Town” his time hanging with Glenn Frey and the Eagles with some stories that we have never heard before and so much more!
This was personally my favorite interview we have ever done with Bob as you can tell he is loving this chapter of his life.
Here is the full interview with Detroit’s own Bob Seger:
One thing that stands out to me is Bob remembering what a great album “Stranger in town” was. He kind of plays it off but you can’t deny the hits that were on that album!
Here is the full album, with hit after hit!

Seger has been the soundtrack to so many of our lives here in Michigan, so saying Happy Birthday and celebrating it is the least we can do.
So here is to you Bob, Happy Birthday from Big Jim’s House, WCSX and our listeners! Happy Seger De Mayo everybody!
Want more of Seger, take a look back at one of the coolest features we have ever done on CSX. Seger Saturdays!
