A Real Life “Catch Me If You Can”
This case is straight out of a Leo DiCaprio movie, and I love it.
It all took place in Texas where a 19 year old kid was able to fool hospitals, gaining access to two different ones. He was pretending to be a PA. Now, this all happened a year ago but he is making the news again because he has been charged with another crime. Let me give you the whole background on this wild story.
In 2022, 18 year old Zach Bailey was able to pull off the very move from Catch me if you can.
“They basically beat it into our heads that we needed to be all about customer service, so I was like, ‘Okay if you send me a picture, then I can get your badge started for you,’” said CCMC’s former volunteer coordinator. “I’ve known people that are very young. One, they just don’t age hardly at all and two, they are just really smart, so they can get through college faster, so I was trying to not hold that against him.”
Once Bailey got the badge, he was able to access surgery rooms, different labs and even the nursery units. It was noted that for over a month he was able to keep this trick going. It took social media to finally catch him, one co-worker saw his profile and realized who he really was.
“I feel bad because I kinda fell for it. I was like, ‘Oh ya, because who does that? Who has the idea to go into the hospital and be like, I’m going to be a doctor today,’” said a CCMC ICU nurse.
FULL STORY:
Zach was arrested and bailed out, only to be arrested again after he violated his gps tracking over 100 times. He was then charged and given 6 years of probations along with some fines.
Now in Oklahoma, Bailey is at it again. Basically this kid is a piece of work.
He was able to sell different cars to a local dealership and make a ton of money off of them in the way of fraud.
Honestly to story is crazy. Check out what happened next.
