Michigan Pumpkin Patch Named One Of The Best In The U.S.
In many regions of the country, it has become common to find Halloween candy displayed in stores in August. But late September and early October is the time when the pumpkin patches thrive. TimeOut recently published a report on the best pumpkin patches in the country, and a Michigan location made the list.
“While every state produces pumpkins (yes, it’s true), only the country’s top patches offer gourds and good times—think fall activities like corn mazes and leaf-peeping and spooky Halloween fun, including haunted hayrides,” TimeOut explains, providing details on their requirements.
When you plant pumpkin seeds, they typically begin to bloom within 8-10 weeks. Pumpkins then can take 90-120 days to mature, according to Creative Vegetable Gardner. Weather is an important part of the process. The warmer weather helps pumpkins grow, while the cooler fall temperatures are best for ripening.
In Michigan, the destination named one of the best pumpkin patches in the country has over five acres for you to explore and pick out your own.
Three Cedars Farms
Located at 7897 Six Mile Road in Northville. Three Cedars Farms is approximately three miles from Detroit. They are open seven days per week. A seven-acre corn maze is onsite, where hayrides are available (for just $5). In addition, visitors can enjoy a barnyard playland that is filled with animals. Kids can enjoy climbing on the tractors, watching the chickens roam, and zip down the silo slides.
“No trip here is complete without a stop at the Cider & Donut Hut,” TimeOut explains. You can enjoy hot apple cider, donuts, and caramel apples here. “Our donuts are made fresh all day long with our secret family recipe,” Three Cedars Farms explained about their infamous donut hut.
After Halloween, this farm remains festive for the remainder of the year. On November 24, they begin their “Country Christmas,” where you can grab your Christmas Tree, wreathes, and take a photo with Santa Claus.

Erebus Haunted Attraction, Pontiac
Located in Downtown Pontiac, at 8 South Perry St., the Tower of Terror is a four-story haunted house featuring an indoor walk spanning over half a mile. Their operating hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Fridays from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Full Moon Manor Haunted House, Highland
Full Moon Manor Haunted House welcomes visitors on Fridays and Saturdays during the entire month of October. This attraction features both a haunted maze and a haunted house. The line starts forming at dusk, and it’s advisable to arrive approximately an hour prior to that time to minimize waiting in long lines.
