Michigan Man, Walking 3,000 Miles To Help Vets
If you don’t know who Jack (Jax) Huffman is, come March 14th you will. Jax is doing the unthinkable, walking from California to the Nations capitol all to raise money for Veterans.
This isn’t the first walk Jax has went on but it is the longest at over 3,000 miles. Jack in a Army vet who knew he wanted to do something for fellow soldiers. After getting himself healthy by walking everyday, he knew this was his new calling in life.
THE WALK:
Jax will start in Sana Strands Beach in California, walk across the country in record time and end up at the capitol building in Washington D.C. While walking, Jax will be carrying 150 pounds of gear, everything from food, water, sleeping bag and tent and much more. During the walk, Jax is hoping to knock out 55 miles a day which would become a new world record. He will be crossing through 13 states and all if this by himself. No hotels at night, no rides from state to state. Just Jax and the open road.
This walk Jack will be raising money for the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers fund. This fund helps injured veterans and their families with living expenses. This is a fund that is close to Jax heart, he is an Army Vet and we learned that a lot of his family is involved with the military.
We had Jax in studio this week to talk about the walk and what this all really means to him.
HOW TO HELP JAX:
From following his journey to donating, here is all of the information you need to help out Jax! For example, Jax has an option to donate 10 dollars a mile, so for every 10 dollars you donate Jax will make sure to say thank you thoughout the walk.
