William Shatner, the 93-year-old actor and pitchman, is to reprise the role of James T. Kirk for a new movie and has an idea about how to make it work.

To Be Young Again Is The Question

William Shatner says he’s down to play Captain James T. Kirk in a movie again and has a strange idea of pulling it off. The 93-year-old actor recently told the Canadian Press that he’d be willing to return to the Starship Enterprise under certain conditions.

“It’s an intriguing idea,” Shatner said. “It’s almost impossible. But if it was a great role and so well-written and if there were a reason to be there not just to make a cameo appearance, but if there were a genuine reason for the character appearing, I might consider it.”

Born on March 22, 1931 in Montreal, Canada, the actor is best known for his portrayal of James T. Kirk in the 'Star Trek' franchise.

Wait A Second, Wasn't His Character Killed Off?

Trekies remember in the 1994 Star Trek Film Star Trek: Generations. William Shatner's great idea suggests that Kirk’s body and brain might have been frozen, and then he could have been revived years later. How do they bring someone back in a daytime TV soap opera? Well, I'll buy it.

William Shatner says, "Let’s see if we can bring back a little bit of this, a little salt, a little pepper. Oh, look at that. Here comes Captain Kirk!'”

I like the idea. Filmmakers have been using de-aging technology, so a Star Trek film might be possible. Shatner is up on his offer, so at least try for a de-aged Kirk flashback or cameo.

Look What They Did With Reverse Aging With A Billy Joel Video

Thanks to artificial intelligence (AI) technology, Billy Joel sat at the same piano in the video for the song. However, computer inputs of old film clips of Billy Joel were fed into AI to recreate the younger piano man from the past.

The Latest William Shatner Effort Is Out Currently

“You Can Call Me Bill,” directed by Alexandre O. Phillippe, offers a look back at Shatner’s body of work — from his “Star Trek” TV show and films to TV series including “Boston Legal” and “T.J. Hooker” — and follows his trip to outer space aboard Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin shuttle in 2021. It also features the actor’s musings on life, death, and nature.
