Do you remember the McPizza? 

McDonald's first debuted its pizza in the '80s. Other pizza chains like Pizza Hut laughed at McDonald's for even attempting the feat, even running ads in the newspaper. If you grew up in the late '80s and '90s, the pizza craze brings back memories of when you could order a pizza alongside your burgers and fries. 

Why Did McPizza Fail In Michigan?

The McPizza was introduced in the 1980s. It didn't fly in the Cliff Notes version because it took a long time to make one.

McDonalds Pizza (1992)

It took too long to prepare… that's it. Drive-thru was becoming popular then, and there was no way to keep the line moving when someone ordered a McPizza. If people would have only ordered it inside, there would never have been a problem.

McDonald's Twitter account in 2020 reminisced about its lost pizza, tweeting, " Remember when we sold McPizza?" 

Who Still Wants A McPizza? Can You Say Road Trip?

There is still one McDonald's store in the United States—a mega-location in Orlando, Florida. The Orlando location is one of the largest McDonald's locations and features a special menu that serves pasta, Belgian waffles, and pizza. And hold on to something! They also serve McSpaghetti!

 The world’s largest McDonald's is 19.000 square feet and is located in Orlando, Florida, on International Drive. Its official name is the World’s Largest McDonald’s.

The McDLT

The McDLT was a sandwich that was available at McDonald's from 1984 to 1991. The sandwich consisted of a hamburger with lettuce and tomato on one side of the bun, and a hot dog with ketchup and mustard on the other side of the bun. The idea behind the sandwich was that you could eat the hot side hot and the cool side cool. Unfortunately, the sandwich was discontinued due to complaints about the styrofoam packaging that it came in.

The Enormous Omelette Sandwich at BK

The Enormous Omelette Sandwich was available at Burger King from 1989 to 1991. The sandwich consisted of three eggs, ham, bacon, American cheese, and mayonnaise on a sesame seed bun. The sandwich was discontinued due to poor sales.

The BK Broiler

The BK Broiler was available at Burger King from 1990 to 2001. The sandwich consisted of a chicken breast fillet that had been marinated in a special sauce and then grilled. It came with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, and cheese on a sesame seed bun. The sandwich was discontinued due to poor sales.

The Arch Deluxe

The Arch Deluxe was a burger that was available at McDonald's from 1996 to 2000. The burger consisted of a quarter-pound beef patty, bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and secret sauce on a sesame seed bun. The burger was discontinued due to poor sales.

KFC Double Down

The double down from KFC was a fan favorite when it was first introduced, and people were devastated when it was taken off the menu. The sandwich consists of two pieces of fried chicken with bacon, cheese, and sauce in between. It's hearty, filling, and absolutely delicious. We can only hope that KFC will bring it back someday soon.

Cini-Minis from BK

The Cini-Minis were cinnamon rolls that were available at Burger King from 1989 to 2016. The rolls were served warm and came with a vanilla icing dipping sauce. They were discontinued due to poor sales but have since been brought back as a limited-time offer.

Big N' Tasty from McDonalds

The Big N' Tasty was a burger that was available at McDonald's from 2001 to 2006. The burger consisted of a quarter-pound beef patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, ketchup, and mayonnaise on a sesame seed bun. It was discontinued due to poor sales.

BK BLT

This sandwich from Burger King was a twist on the classic BLT. It featured four strips of bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on a toasted sesame seed bun. It was discontinued in 2013.

McPizza

This pizza from McDonald's was a personal-sized pizza with a thin crust and various toppings like pepperoni or sausage. It was introduced in the 1980s and discontinued in the early 2000s.

Frosty Float from Wendy's

This refreshing treat from Wendy's combined the chain's signature Frosty dessert with root beer or Coca-Cola. It was available for a limited time only and has not been seen since 2009.
