Pizza for Breakfast? Healthier Than You Think – Here’s Why
Pizza for breakfast sounds silly. The only time I remember having pizza for breakfast was after a night of drinking.
The truth is stranger than fiction today. It is now a proven fact that pizza is better than most breakfast cereals.
I haven’t heard ‘pizza’ and ‘healthy’ in the same sentence… until now. According to New York-based nutritionist Chelsey Amer, a cheesy, greasy, carb-filled slice is better for you than your favorite breakfast cereal. So, I guess it’s time for us all to rethink our morning eating habits—and to celebrate pizza for breakfast.

If you were like me growing up, the best part of breakfast was the sugar boost from some classic cereals like Super Sugar Crisp, King Vitamin, Quisp, Freakies, Honeycomb, Count Chocolate, and others. Saturday morning, in front of the TV, watching hours of cartoons and eating the entire box just to get to the prize at the bottom of the box.

You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same calories,” Amer told the site. “Pizza has a protein punch, which will keep your energy flying throughout the morning.

That’s not to say that all pizza and cereals are good for you. Please do not tell me that pineapple on pizza is nutritious; that is another story.
Cereal made with whole grains, nuts or seeds, and fruit with organic grass-fed milk or plant-based milk is okay, I guess if you are into eating twigs and dirt, but it will be a better choice over a greasy pizza made with processed meat like pepperoni on a white flour crust.
Now that you are a grown-up, you can wake up early, have pizza, and watch the morning news. I don’t know if coffee goes with pizza, but I am unwilling to give up my coffee for anyone.

Freddy’s Bar & Grill: After my band plays a gig at Freddy’s, I always take time to get a pie loaded with stuff all over the place. The bacon and sausage sauce is sweet, and their bread is always fresh.
Buddy’s Pizza on Van Dyke is always good leftover food. Yes, I have enjoyed it for breakfast many times.
Jet’s pizza -I have enjoyed it since my high school days and many, many hangovers.
