Detroit Police Seize 85 Grand In Fake Lions Gear
It wasn’t only a busy and season night for the Detroit Lions on Sunday. It was also busy for the cities finest as the Detroit Police Department say they seized over 85 thousand dollars in counterfeit Lions merch.
It’s has become such a massive problem that shop owners like FanaticU says it’s becoming a massive problem. Honestly, this is no surprise to me. With the prices of all the merch these days I don’t find it surprising people are settling for some knock off stuff. This is also the NFL cracking down and wanting to suck out every dollar they can possible get. I am against hurting local retailers, but for the NFL to crack down like they do is sad.

PERSONAL STORY:
Funny, this topic was brought up over the weekend between my buddy from Chicago and I. One year. When we were both in our 20’s we thought it would be a good idea to make some extra cash at the Dave Mathews Concert. What did that mean? We bought 100 shirts and printed the bands image and show dates on them.
We were selling the shirts for 20 bucks, that was 20 dollars cheaper than any other shirt we found that day. Unfortunately, the cops approached us and we had to give up all the shirts and any of the money we made from them. Thankfully that was all we had to give up. I thought for a second we were going to jail. Looking back, I know it was wrong, but at that time it seemed like a great idea for some young kids to cash in on the concert.
Since that moment, I have never done that again. Safe to say I never will either.
What a win it was on Sunday, here is a look back at how amazing it was.
