Facebook Not Working Today

First time in Facebook Jail recently. Never in my wildest dreams did this guy would ever do time out in Facebook Jail. Here in 2023, it is a different story, as many friends made it a point to go to Facebook Jail as a badge of honor. Some again and again and again. Now, I am currently serving a 3-day ban which halts me from posting anything as well as talking to fellow Facebookers on the outside world.

Facebook Early Times

Screamin Photo From Facebook The Early Days

Facebook is a social networking service originally launched as TheFacebook on February 4, 2004, before changing its name to simply Facebook in August 2005. Back in 2005, the name Zuckerburg was not even a household name. MySpace was still the rage until the makers of MySpace decided to mess with the formula and change the look of the platform. In 2010 Facebook was the "New Thing," so made the jump and put MySpace in my rearview mirror for good.

Many Years Of Fun On Facebook

The freshness of Facebook was fun and exciting. So exciting in fact in 2011 the Screamin Scott so-called "celebrity", page was born. Later many other pages include the Chit Band page, Rock 4 Tots, The Poncho and Cisco Show and the Screamin Angels Charity pages. Many events as well as photos of all my friends and fun times are on the pages.  Photos also of many friends that we lost over the years we can look back on with great memories.

Handcuffs on Accused Criminal on Facebook

On the computer laptop all of a sudden everything stopped on my keyboard. Facebook froze anytime I hit a key. Any message was met with a warning. ⛔️ You have violated community standards and violate Facebook community standards. Had to search to find out what the heck I did wrong. Sometimes hand got slapped inviting too many people to the next Chit! concert. But this was a post-violation. Was in big-time trouble for a photo on my page.

THE VIOLATION!

The big boo boo post was not even a post from me but some Facebook Bot computer searched my entire pages and came up with a violation. It was a photo meme from September of 2013! Got busted for a shared meme from over 10 years ago. The photo in question was of two kids talking about what they were going to be when they grew up. Thought it was a cute meme. There was no nudity or graphic content. I appealed the ruling and was not overturned. Found guilty by a computer. Makes you scared of what the future might hold for control of social media content. Zuckerburg is a big part of the control.

Hopeful for a virtual cake with a wave file in it. Serving my 3 days and going on the straight and narrow. Kind of a "scared straight," version on Facebook for me. Thanks to well wishes and advice while I was in the clink for the first time. Just wonder what they will find next. Or god forbid they found out what I did in 7th grade at Carter Jr. High School in Warren, MI.

Facebook Announces New Parent Company Name, Internet Proceeds to Troll

Facebook announced that its parent company, which also owns Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger, has rebranded itself as Meta.

Per The Washington Post, "Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg made the announcement at Connect, the company’s annual hardware event where it talks about products like the Portal video devices and Oculus headsets. The rebranding — pegged to a virtual world and hardware known as the “metaverse” — comes amid a broader effort to shift attention away from revelations that it knew its platform was causing a litany of social harms. The Facebook social network is not changing its name."

Zuckerberg published a letter to the Meta website further detailing the changes to the company and plans for the "metaverse."

In part, he writes, "The defining quality of the metaverse will be a feeling of presence — like you are right there with another person or in another place...In the metaverse, you’ll be able to do almost anything you can imagine — get together with friends and family, work, learn, play, shop, create — as well as completely new experiences that don’t really fit how we think about computers or phones today."

Zuckerberg adds, "The last five years have been humbling for me and our company in many ways. One of the main lessons I’ve learned is that building products people love isn’t enough...From now on, we will be metaverse-first, not Facebook-first. That means that over time you won’t need a Facebook account to use our other services. As our new brand starts showing up in our products, I hope people around the world come to know the Meta brand and the future we stand for."

Understandably, news like this led many to troll this Meta move by Facebook, which has been facing intense scrutiny lately following many whistleblower revelations about the company, including how the company chose to not stop the spread of misinformation in favor of profits and that it knows the negative impact Instagram has on teen.

Here are some of the best reactions to Meta.
