Good News: Friday Edition…Heartwarming Hot Wheels
Ready for some uplifting news to end the week? Our Good News: Friday Edition…Heartwarming Hot Wheels and a wedding story that might have you cutting onions:
1. A six-year-old with special needs wandered away from a school in Houston and was missing for over an hour. But she’s okay after a homeless guy saw she was alone and kept her safe until someone got there.
2. A five-year-old kid in Oregon broke a world record by building a Hot Wheels track with 20 loops in it. His dad helped. (Here’s the video.)

3. A 32-year-old woman in England named Freya Rosati recently got hitched, and got a letter on her wedding day from her dad who passed away 20 years ago.
Before he died of cancer, he wrote nine letters for her. One for each birthday until she turned 18 . . . another for her 21st . . . and one more for her wedding day.
Her mom read it out loud at the reception, and it was pretty emotional. But Freya says it was an important moment for her. You can watch the full speech online. His advice to her and her new husband was to always “face everything full-on,” and their life together will be a huge success. (Here’s the letter.)
4. A guy in Rhode Island named Tim Perry is using his INSANE annual Halloween display to raise money for the American Cancer Society again this year. He calls it “House of 1,000 Pumpkins.”
He takes fake “craft” pumpkins and carves celebrities’ faces into them. And yes, he really does have that many. He’s been doing it for over a decade, and adds more pumpkins each year. But it’s only the third year it’s been a fundraiser.
A few years ago, his wife got diagnosed with cancer. So that’s when he decided to start raising money for cancer research. But the best news is he says she’s doing okay now, and “hopefully the cancer is gone.”
If you can’t make it to Cranston, Rhode Island to see it in person, you can check out his “House of 1,000 Pumpkins” Facebook page. He’s also doing an online fundraiser through Facebook this year, so anyone can donate. (Here’s a photo.)
5. A factory worker in California named John Bartlett recently got forced into retirement after working 42 years at minimum wage. And all the company did was throw him a lame barbecue. So one of his co-workers posted about him on TikTok, and started a GoFundMe that’s now raised over $35,000 to help him out.
