April 19th, Massive Day For New Music
Alright, I will try to not only focus on the release of Taylor Swift’s new album, but I am excited for it. Taylor is not the only one with new music coming out today, a few Classic artists are even releasing some new projects. Let’s get into why today is a big day for music.
I am very excited for today, most of you know that I am 100 percent a Swifty! Taylor Swift’s 11th studio album is set to be released today, it’s called “The Tortured Poets Department” and the album will have a few special guests on it, including Post Malone and Florence and the Machine. As all her fans waiting until midnight to hear it, Taylor threw another curveball at us. at 2am this morning, she told the internet that this album is secretly a double album.
The first album has 31 songs on it and the second will follow up with 15 more. Taylor said this album is going to be a little sad, since it is her poetry turned into songs. I haven’t listened to it yet because I am a good husband and want to wait for my wife!

Taylor isn’t the only one with new music today. Here is a list of some new releases, including some great classic artists.
• “The Tortured Poets Department”, Taylor Swift. This is her 11th album. Her guests are Post Malone and Florence + The Machine.
• “Dark Matter”, Pearl Jam. This is their 12th album.
• “UB45”, UB40. This is their 21st album. It’s in recognition of their 45th anniversary.
• “But I’ll Wait for You”, Local Natives. This is their sixth album.
• “Tarantula Heart”, Melvins. This is their 27th album.
• “Rebel”, Anne Wilson. This is her second album. (She is not to be confused with Ann Wilson of Heart.)
• “Class of ’89”, Craig Campbell. This is his third album.
New Music Surprises:
Although, Taylor Swift is the big news, there are a couple of new releases I didn’t see coming. For example, UB40 will release their 21st album today and it’s promised to bring a smile to a lot of faces. Another band with new music is Pearl Jam. Say what you want, but I consider them Classic Rock. As a 33 year old, Pearl Jam was something my sisters listened to in the early nineties. To see them still crushing it is awesome!
One more thing, I will defend my love for Taylor Swift and anyone who says she isn’t talented is just downright wrong. I get it, I work at a Classic Rock station and I should be a rocker through and through. That’s just not the case, I honestly think doing the job I do, I should be aware of all types of music. It just happens that I am really into Taylor Swift! lol.
