Kyle Busch Goes to RCR

After 15 years with Joe Gibbs racing, Kyle Busch is moving on to Richard Childress Racing and the #8 car in 2023.
Couple of things to consider: Kyle has been a marquee part of the Toyota NASCAR program, and now he’s moving to Chevrolet.
I’m sure Kyle will have more to say about this going forward…but for today he was definitely all business.
Q: Were you ever informed the 18 was not an option for you next year?

NASCAR observations from Big Jim:
- The new car/platform has definitely generated better racing. But I’m definitely concerned about the safety issue. The issues with Kevin Harvick and the fire in his car, plus the reaction from Denny Hamlin after his hard hit have me concerned. I hope NASCAR does internalize this (like they normally do) and be more transparent with safety on the car and responding to drivers.
- There’s a definite power shift going on with the drivers – beyond the Chase Elliott / Kyle Larson dynamic…we’ve got a crop of really good and aggressive young drivers that believe it’s there time.
- Ross Chastain is a bull in a china cabinet – and I love it. He’s so much fun to watch (unless he’s around you on the track…then it’s a nightmare). I’m really curious to see where his career goes over the next couple of seasons.
