Royal Oak’s Glenn Frey Dr. Becomes Part Of Rock History
For those who remember, last fall Big Jim, Ryan and friend of the show Sick Pizza Scott, took off on the ultimate Classic Rock Road Trip to Stand on a Corner in Winslow Arizona. Now, the Glenn Frey Dr. street sign is part of the display honoring Glenn and the iconic Eagles song.
Last November, we set off in an RV and began 24 hour drive to Winslow Arizona. Our goal was to get there and see the statue of Glenn Frey, which is brilliantly placed right on the Corner he sang about so many years ago.
This trip was all about honoring Glenn and the Eagles, but also about raising money for Forgotten Harvest. When it was all said and done, with the amazing help from you, we raised for 7 thousand dollars for Forgotten Harvest.
One thing we also really wanted to do was present the Standin’ on a Corner foundation with a Glenn Frey Dr. sign from Royal Oak. We met with the foundation and gave them the sign, what happened next was something amazing! They informed us that they were going to put the sign up, right next to Glenn’s statue.
Well, a few months later, the sign is up! the foundation sent us these photos, with you help we made it happen! Glenn Frey Dr. is now part of one of the most iconic rock tributes of all time!
How awesome is that! Glenn Frey and the city of Royal Oak are now a member of the “Standin’ on the Corner” display in Winslow, Arizonia.
