The Tigers made their first big move of the offseason by stealing the Chicago White Sox play by play callers Jason Benetti. This is a big move for the Tigers as his is the first announcer since Ernie Harwell to be hired directly by the team. He is also one of the best announcers in the game and now he is a Detroit Tiger!
Jason was the play by play guy for the White Sox and multiple national games. But now, I am happy to say he will be in Detroit for many years to come.

PERSONAL THOUGHTS:
As a big baseball and Tigers fan I can tell you this is a great sign going into the off-season. Signing a guy like Jason proves to me that the Tigers are going in with this team. It starts with a great announcer making the games entertaining. The product on the field will follow. The Tigers stepped up and got their guy. That also proves to me that they may do the same when it comes to players. I dig this hire and I think everyone in Detroit will soon do the same!
