Netflix has had to unbelievably successful docuseries, it first started with F-1 "Drive to Survive". This show gave you an inside look to the everyday life of an F-1 driver and their team. Last year Netflix followed it up with the first golf docuseries called "Full Swing" now it's time to join the two worlds together.
Tonight, Tuesday November 14th at 6 pm eastern time, will be the result of this. As the two worlds will collide in Las Vegas for a very special golf face off. It's called "The Netflix Cup" and it is the first live sporting event to happen on Netflix. The cup will have four pairs of golfers, 2 coming from F-1 and 2 coming from the PGA tour. These teams will go at it in an 18 hole match play tournament. 2 teams will play a match play round against each other with the winners going head to head on one extra hole.
As far as the format goes, it will be a two man scramble match play event. Which means, each player will hit from one spot, with the better score winning that hole.
THE MATCHES:
Match 1
Lando Norris (McLaren Racing) and Rickie Fowler vs. Carlos Sainz (Scuderia Ferrari) and Justin Thomas
Match 2
Alex Albon (Williams Racing) and Max Homa vs. Pierre Gasly (BWT Alpine F1 Team) and Collin Morikawa
Again, the winner of these two matches will play one sudden death playoff hole to see who takes home the Netflix cup.
Here was the announcement of the teams a few weeks ago.
The star studded lineup for the tournament does not stop there. There will also be 4 celebrity announcers for the event. these four commentators are sure to bring a few laughs to the broadcast. Not sure how much the golf will be talked about but it should be entertaining. I will put money on Bert not having a shirt on in the Vegas heat.

sportscaster Kay Adams, PGA golfer Joel Dahmen, comedian Bert Kreischer and legendary running back Marshawn Lynch.
Here is some more information for you. It should be a great time and I will be interested to see a live sports event on Netflix.
