Michigan V. Ohio State Bill Bonds Style

Still to this day I am not sure there is a better segment on the Michigan vs. Ohio State rivalry then this one from Bill Bonds back in the day….

Still to this day I am not sure there is a better segment on the Michigan vs. Ohio State rivalry then this one from Bill Bonds back in the day. Let's take a look back.

Personally for me there is no better time of the year than the Saturday when Michigan plays Ohio State. Warning: This is 100 percent a bias towards Michigan post. I have been a Michigan fan since I can remember, my dad bleed maze and blue and so do I. Regardless of what is happening in the world of college football, this game is bigger than ever this year. Both teams are 11-0 entering Saturday and the loser will most likely miss out on playing for the National Championship.

It's more than a chance to play for it all. It's also a game that will divide a house, cause some arguments on Thanksgiving. This game will have blood, sweat and tears, as well as the houses watching. I have cried more times watching Michigan vs. Ohio State than I care to mention. That is what this game means to fans of each school, and this year has hit an all time level of animosity towards the other school.

Nothing comes close to this coverage of "The Game" then Bill Bonds on channel 7 back in the day!

Here is Bill Bonds from 1985, reporting on the game that weekend:

Again, this game is more than a game for a lot of people. Some may not understand and think it's silly but for me it is apart of me. It's a reminder of my dad and all he put into loving the Michigan Wolverines. Forget the investigations, forget the fact the Ryan Day dyes his beard (lol). Saturday it comes down to one thing. Win and play for a national championship.

Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf! Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
