Think you have a weird workplace? Detroit had a Tiger get loose during a photo shoot. Really.

The Tiger at the Packard Plant

Back in 2015 during a photo shoot at the abandoned Packard Plant a Tiger got loose. It was national news (cue the Detroit Tigers puns, right?). A British photographer was given permission to do a photo shoot – but he didn’t tell anyone about the wild animals he brought with him (Tiger, two wolves and a bobcat). The folks at the Packard Plant Project were NOT thrilled about and asked them to leave…only problem was, the Tiger didn’t want to go:

So why are we revisiting this story about the time Detroit had a Tiger get loose during a photo shoot?  I saw this article on Buzzfeed about workplace scandals (hmmmm….remember what happened with our former Mayor of Detroit?). So the Tiger story came to mind…that’s a tough one to explain. Here’s a couple of the best scandals from Buzzfeed:

Workplace Scandals (from Buzzfeed)

1.  Someone’s boss allegedly mixed her own PEE into the water cooler and let her employees drink from it.  She obviously got fired.

2.  A doctor and nurse were secretly having an affair, and no one knew until he got mauled by a BEAR on a rafting trip.  The nurse was on the rafting trip with him, and saved his life.

3.  A woman brought her daughter to work.  Then a day later, a coworker said, “You can’t bring your daughter to work here anymore . . . I’m not allowed to be around children.”

4.  The big bosses at a newspaper scolded the whole staff for spreading a “baseless” rumor that a manager was sleeping with the head of shipping.  Then a week later, they got arrested while getting-it-on in a car.

5.  A freelancer at a magazine tried to get people to unionize, but didn’t know the staff well.  So he put a list of phone numbers together and called them to say how awful the owner was.  Turned out one of the employees was the owner’s WIFE.

6.  Someone at a call center used the bathroom and smeared it all over the walls.  The bathroom wasn’t open to the public.  So it had to be an employee, but no one fessed up.

7.  A movie theater manager got busted for under-charging people who paid cash.  She’d charge them the children’s rate and pocket the rest.  Turned out she’d been doing it for years and stole tens-of-thousands of dollars.

8.  A manager at a landscaping company was sleeping with the owner’s wife . . . talked dirty to her with his speakerphone on . . . and his two-way radio was keyed, so everyone at the company heard it
