Riding On Hood On Lodge In Detroit
What happened here? This man is on the hood of a car on the Lodge. ON THE LODGE. Thanks to our friends at MetroDetroitNews for sharing this with us. (BTW – the car eventually stopped and the hood rider is okay)
On The Hood On The Lodge
He’s definitely trying to talk to the driver…while on the hood of it (again, This man is on the hood of a car on the Lodge!). So what happened to cause this? Let’s watch the video and check it out:
Possible Reasons for Hood Riding
- Relationship issues? Maybe he got caught and the driver stormed out – and he jumped on the hood to stop them?
- Maybe they’re a big fan of the 80’s TV show TJ Hooker? (Oh come on, don’t you remember how he always jumped on the hood of cars). If not…here you go:
- Crazy girlfriend theory. A couple of people on Instagram posted this comment. Maybe he’s just dating a crazy woman. Okay, that’s fine…but why would you jump on the hood of the car if you know they’re crazy?
- Someone stole the car and they’re trying to stop them (see TJ Hooker move above). Again, not your best move.
I’ve done this before.
Don’t judge me, but back in High School a friend of mine had an orange Opel Manta that was a fun car to drive. And I liked to jump on the hood in the parking lot and hold on to the windshield wipers. Until the one day he decided to NOT stop and pull out of the parking lot and head up the street.
We made it about two blocks before he stopped. I can speak from experience when I say it’s a scary position to be in (last time I did that).
Bottom Line
We’re glad they’re safe. But next time – DON’T JUMP on the hood of a car. Especially when they’re getting on the freeway. I can only imagine the noises he was making.
