What the hell happened that led to this?
Matt Rempe is a forward for the New York Rangers that tends to get into A LOT of fights (he’s a big guy) – but back in March he refused to fight New Jersey’s Kurtis MacDermid. Later in the game Rempe knocked out one of Devils players with a high elbow (and was suspended for four games). This was payback.
Is it better than the pre-game fight in “Slap Shot”…nahhhh.
Or of course we can’t forget “Fight Night at the Joe” with our man Darren McCarty
Even our buddy John Odndrasik of “Five For Fighting” commented on this fight (via Twitter/X)
We love Hockey in Detroit – but are we America’s most passionate hockey fans?
Researchers looked at more than 50 factors across all five major sports . . . football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and soccer. Things like win-loss records . . . how passionate the fans are . . . and how affordable it is to see a game.
In the end, big cities did the best, partly because they’re more likely to have professional teams in all five sports.
The ten best sports cities in America OVERALL are L.A., Boston, New York, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Miami, Philadelphia, Denver, Washington D.C., and Atlanta.
But they also broke it down individually for each sport . . .
Pittsburgh, Dallas, Green Bay, Boston, and L.A. are the best football cities.
For basketball fans, it’s L.A., Boston, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and Philadelphia.
It’s New York, St. Louis, L.A., Atlanta, and Boston for baseball.
It’s Boston, Pittsburgh, Detroit, St. Louis, and New York for hockey.
