She also shared the squatter was a friend of her brothers. So what's that all about? We've had a couple of strange "squatter" stories recently - including the one in Midland with the lady living above the store for a YEAR (there's new video as well from the police dashcam when they asked her to leave).

This story rattled me a little bit when I first watched the TikTok. I've told this story on the air, when I was a little kid there was a movie called "Magic" with Anthony Hopkins and his ventriloquism dummy that came to life and starting killing people (at least I think that's the premise, after seeing the trailer for the movie I never watched it...read about it...looked at it). But there I was, a young boy at home in our little apartment when this trailer came on TV.

I remember sitting there watching the screen. Then turning on every light in the apartment to make sure I wasn't going to be attacked by a murder puppet (maybe this is where my fear of the giant teddy bear billboard on I-75 comes from, eh?). This "every light on" habit went on for a couple of months - and what made it worse was the fact that my mom had bought me a dummy to learn how to be a ventriloquist. #BadTiming - so yeah, when I see this story of the squatter living under woman's bed, my mind goes back to being convinced that dummy was under MY bed.
