Gearing Up for The Rocket Mortgage Classic
Big Jim and Ryan welcomed the Executive Director for the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Jason Langwell to the show to talk about this years tournament and their continued support for the city of Detroit.
Jason Langwell is the Executive Director for the Rocket Mortgage Classic and he joined us to talk golf and charity.
The Rocket Mortgage Classic returns to Detroit and the Detroit Golf Club July 26th through the 31st. The field this year is absolutely stacked with some of the greatest players in the world heading to Detroit!

The list of players continues with 15 players within the top 50 of the official world golf ranking, 11 golfers who have won this season on the PGA and 24 players who are ranked within the top 50 of the PGA tour’s 2021-22 FedEx cup standings.
Jason also talked about the the charity aspect of the tournament, and what they are doing to help out the residents of Detroit with their “Changing the Course” initiative.
Changing the Course means allowing every resident of Detroit the ability to access the internet, digital training and much more. Jason speaks about that above!

Adding to the excitement of this years Rocket Mortgage Classic, Jason announced the addition multiple new fan zone areas which he also talks about in the above interview.
NEW FAN ZONES FOR THIS YEARS RMC
REA 313 Grove & AREA 313 Village – Continuing as the center of the action at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, AREA 313 showcases two newly created areas for fans to gather.
The Turn – This space features stadium-style seating with views of the first tee, plus an adjoining lounge overlooking the par-3 ninth hole. Enjoy craft cocktails and hang out with friends and family.
Treehouse – This brand-new elevated fan deck is located behind the green at the par-3 fifth hole and provides 360-degree views of five holes.
High Noon Sun Deck – Fans can watch players approach the 17th green and take great photos from this elevated location. Adults can relax with a High Noon while they watch players come down the closing stretch at Detroit Golf Club.
