The first Grounds For Divorce for this week was all about my wife returning from her vacation and me wanting her to take over parent duties. Let's get into it.
So my wife went to Chicago over the weekend with her friends, which meant my son Finnian and I were home alone together. I am not complaining about that because I love being a dad, but I do think when my wife got home on Sunday she should have taken over the parent duties.
Here was the question I asked:
"IF A PARENT IS OUT OF TOWN FOR A WEEKEND, WHEN THEY GET BACK THEY SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PARENT DUTIES RIGHT?"
As soon as I asked the question, the calls and comments came in. Here is the conversation:
Boy did the texts and Facebook comments not dissapoint, I figured I would get ripped on but people were not happy with me even asking the question. Here are some of the messages:
KIM: Hi Ry Ry-i don't have kids but I think you need to cut her some slack! Only because she's the one who labored before pushing a piano through a keyhole!! Luv ya bro
810: I am a wife and a mom and I agree with Ryan she should help pick up the slack when she comes home
GARY: I'm late but man up butter cup Ryan push a watermelon out of your lady parts
MURRAY: Give her time to decompress from the trip
Now, there were more comments, but I didn't want to put anymore of them up because as you can guess they just ripped me!
FINAL THOUGHTS ON PARENT DUTIES:
Overall I think I am still keeping my position, if one person is gone for an extended period of time I think that they should take over once they get home and settled. I guess we will have to see if it comes up the next time one of us leaves for the weekend.
