Why Rush Is One Of My Favorite Bands

With the Block Party weekend here on CSX I wanted to take a moment and share a very personal reason as to why Rush will forever be one of my favorite bands! 

This is one of my favorite weekends of the year on WCSX. It truly is The Classic Rock Soundtrack for Memorial Day Weekend. One of the bands that will be featured of course is Rush! ever since I was little I have loved Rush, let me tell you why!

For those who listen to the show, you know I lost my dad when I was 17 years old. One of the things I remember him always talking about was his crazy weekend in Canada, seeing Rush 3 days in a row! For me, that is a crazy feat, but for him it was the time of a lifetime.

I remembering him telling me the story like it was yesterday, him and 3 buddies loaded in the car and took off for Toronto. My dad said they could not pass up on an opportunity to see Rush in front of their hometown fans.

I am sure he spared some of the memories from me because of my age, but man did it sound like one big 3 day party!

Anyway, ever since hearing my dad talk about the band, it has always been a way for me to stay connected with my father! To this day I will turn on a Rush song and just smile, knowing that they were my dad's favorite band.

Unfortunately, I was never able to see them live, but for not being around during the heyday, having this memory is huge for me!

Here is another favorite rush moment of mine! I am a big fan of South Park and when Rush joined them it was incredible.
