Should My Wife and I Get The Big Bedroom on Vacation
This was another Grounds for Divorce I was a little worried to bring to air. It involves an upcoming vacation with my wife’s family and who gets the master bedroom.
So My father in law has brought an awesome spot on Kelly Island in Ohio, my wife, son Finnian and I will be joining the other members of Heidi’s family on what should be a great vacation.
Now, the house only has 4 bedrooms, there is 10 of us going so the question is. Who gets the master bedroom? First I would always say Heidi’s dad because he paid, but he wants to sleep in a tent “under the stars”.
So Heidi’s siblings said, let’s throw names in a hat and pick who gets which room. Heidi and I said “no way’! We should get the biggest room becuase we have the smallest child and need the most room.
Here is how I presented it on air:
IM GOING ON A FAMILY VACATION WITH HEIDIS FAMILY IN A FEW WEEKS..THEY WANT TO DRAW NAMES FOR ROOMS..HEIDI AND I SAY WE GET THE BIGGEST BECAUSE WE HAVE THE YOUNGEST CHILD..ARE WE RIGHT OR ARE WE BEING DEMANDING?
Now, here was my first though, I should probably stay out of this and let my wife handle it since it is her family.
Now, here is the video from the show today, where you will hear some thoughts on it.
Listeners were quick to comment on this, here are some of those comments:
Jaybird from Nashville says great advice. Let Heidi do the talking.
When we go on family vacations, the one who pays gets the biggest room and it’s usually me
If you are drawing names instead of families who says you’ll be in the same room with Heidi at all
Just get your own room
So those are just a few comments from listeners, but as you heard. Most people said we should get the biggest room!
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Alright, so I really think I am going to try and stay smart here and let my wife handle this. If we get the larger room awesome, if not we will make it work and have a great time.
As always, thank you all for the great comments and thoughts on these topics. If you want to catch up on past Grounds for Divorce’s just hit the link below:
