Amon-Ra St. Brown was ONE pump away from a penalty – no really. Remember the skit on “Key & Peele” about Hingle McCringleberry and his three pumps after a touchdown? It almost happened to the Lions receiver in Kansas City:

“I hit it, boom, no flag, I get to the sideline, sit down, celebrate boom. And then my receiver coach (Antwaan Randle-El) is like Hey St., one more time and they said were gonna throw the flag. I’m like  it’s done now I got it off. Ain’t no more pumps. Apparently the ref told our head coach that if he does one more pump, then we’ll throw the flag, and then he told our receiver guards and he told me.”

Now for frame of reference, here’s the original skit from Key & Peele:

Somewhere in New Orleans Jamal Williams is laughing his butt off right now (he got fined for excessive celebration last year).

Speaking of the Lions, have you seen the new “Pure Michigan” parody spot?

It has been a minute since we’ve had another great Pure Michigan Parody, but thankfully John Kerfoot has come back with one of the best “Not So Pure Michigan” videos of all.

If you live in Michigan, or honestly anywhere in the country than you understand the hype around this Detroit Lions team. That hype only grew after the week won win in Kansas City. Going into week two of the NFL season, besides Aaron Rodgers, the Lions are all anyone is talking about.

For example, Fox broadcasting has changed their schedule, this Sunday Fox’s number one broadcast team will be in Detroit to cover the game. Erin Andrews will be on the sideline for possibly the first time ever in Detroit.

This is a massive deal for everyone who has been a Lions fan for life, things are changing in the Motorcity and everyone is starting to pickup on it. Including our buddy John Kerfoot who is the mastermind behind the Pure Michigan Parodies.

Here is his latest one, all about the Detroit Lions.

This video is great on many levels, but honestly why can’t this be the year for the Lions. I know, I know, we have to wait and see and no one will believe it until we see it. But for the time being, let’s put away that SOL talk and just enjoy the moment. This team has already given more excitement than any other Lions team since I can remember.

The Lions take on Seattle on Sunday at Ford Field and believe you me, that place may lose a roof by the end of the day!
