Taking a WCSX Shirt As A White Elephant Gift

It’s that time of the season, time to celebrate the holiday’s, give and receive gifts. My question for this Grounds for Divorce is if I am being cheap or not….

It's that time of the season, time to celebrate the holiday's, give and receive gifts. My question for this Grounds for Divorce is if I am being cheap or not. Let's get into it!

So we have a Christmas party to attend on Friday night. They want to do a white elephant gift exchange with the max price of 20 dollars. I want to bring a CSX shirt but my wife thinks that is being cheap. What do you think?

Here is the question as I asked it on-air:

GROUNDS FOR DIVORCE 12/5

WE ARE DOING A WHITE ELEPHANT FRIDAY WITH FRIENDS..LIMIT IS 20 BUCKS..I WANT TO GRAB A STATION SHIRT..HEIDI SAID I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE IS SPENDING 20 DO? IS IT A CHEAP MOVE?

Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with it, here is what listeners thought about it.

LISTENER COMMENTS:

Team Ryan on this one. You guys are the best.

I would gladly take the shirt!!!

You don't have to buy something you can take something you have at home and gift it. We so it as a family thing

Great idea, who doesn't love a tshirt

Tell Heidi AKA Stick in the mud it's a great gift.

Ryan, you messed up. You should've never said that you got it for free. You should've said that you paid for it.

Trust me Ryan, the majority are not spending a dime out of pocket, just re-gifting ...

How do you know they are spending any money let alone $20

FINAL THOUGHTS:

So there you have the thoughts from Listeners and Big Jim. I still think it is fine to bring a shirt as a gift. As I see it, it's not my fault I can grab a shirt that is over 20 dollars in price for free and bring it. Sorry my job allows that. I am sure if one of these people could they would just bring something from the office anyway. What do you think though. Shoot me a comment!

Grounds for Divorce
Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf! Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
