National Champions: Why I Love This Michigan Team
Congratulations to the 2023-2024 NCAA National Champions, The Michigan Wolverines. As a life long Michigan fan and someone who was only 7 the last time they won the Natty, I needed to share my thoughts and love for this team 144.
It was a hell of a night in Houston as the Michigan Wolverines took on the Huskies from Washington. I cannot think of a college team in history that has been under this much pressure to win a national title. The team stuck together through all of the adversary and came out on top. The National Title is coming back to Ann Arbor and I, along with so many others have a massive smile on my face this morning.
PERSONAL CONNECTION:
I will get to some of the highlights from the game but first, let me give you a little background as to why this game and victory means so much to me. I lost my dad when I was 17 years old, I am now 33. Ever since I can remember, my dad dressed me in Maze and Blue and preached the ways of the Wolverines. I knew what it meant to be a “Michigan Man” at an early age, still something I strive for today.
I wasn’t lucky enough to play baseball or even go to school at Michigan, but that has never stopped me from supporting the Maze and Blue. Saturday’s were like a dream to me growing up, wake up to the fresh smell of game day foods being prepared. My dad would already have his paper in hand, checking the lineup and matchups for the game. When noon came around I knew what the drill was, he got in his spot and I got in mine. We were ready. Now, if Michigan lost, you knew not to speak to my father until Sunday morning. It was understood, that was the process right up until the day we lost him.
So for people who say, why are you a fan of Michigan? You didn’t even go there? I bet I have made more Michigan memories and connections than some who went to the school. I love this school, I love this team and I will forever be a Michigan Wolverine.
Oh yeah, my mother and sister both work for the University. So suck it haters! Now, let’s get to the game and celebrate the National Champions of College Football!
GAME RECAP AND HIGHLIGHTS:

This was the the final dagger, and who else but Corum. I will say right now, Corum is the greatest running back in Michigan history:
