Are Swimming Lessons Important?
It’s time for another Grounds for Divorce, this one was all about swimming lessons and if they are important. Let’s get into and I will tell you why they are not!
So, Grounds for Divorce this week was all about my son and swimming. My wife wants to get him swimming lessons, I think because we basically live on a lake all summer we can just teach him ourselves. What do you think?
Here is the question and how I asked it on-air:
GROUNDS FOR DIVORCE 2-6
SHOULD WE GET FINN SWIMMING LESSONS THIS SUMMER OR JUST TEACH HIM AT THE LAKE? I DON’T THINK HE NEEDS LESSONS
Now, before we get the video from this morning. Here are some of my thoughts. My mother lives on a lake and during the summer we are there almost every day. Last year Finnian was in love with the water and never wanted to get out. I know he loves it, so I think we can just teach him how to swim while being out there. Some agreed with me, others not so much.
ON-AIR CONVERSATION:
LISTENER COMMENTS:
Originally from florida. Was just thrown in the water. And lived. Later on swimming lessons. SO i agree with Ryan!!! Go Finn!!!
I’m on Ryan’s side, just John Wayne it, Fin will be fine
Look at swim lessons as father son bonding after the baby comes. Finn’s gonna want a little bit of extra attention.
I think swim lessons are OK for people that don’t have access to pools or lakes but otherwise, I think it’s a waste of money. And I think it’s more of a bonding thing for a parent to teach a child to swim.
Waste of money, Ryan is on a boat most of the summer, toss the little guy in the lake
Definitely do lessons. I fell off a pool ladder at about 6 w by under water and 52 years later I still don’t like the water
FINAL THOUGHTS:
I really appreciate all of the feedback when it comes to this topic. I think we will just focus on him swimming at the lake this year and adjust if it needs more help. I really believe with the amount of time we spend at the lake, he will get it down without an issue.
Again as always, thank you for the help and if you want to catch up on past Grounds for Divorce, check them out below:
